CITYSCAPES

Artistic approach

New York City is an open air cathedral. Verticality of structures, play of light and symbols piling up: a lot of features tend to be comparable. I am especially interested in how the light wades through the city : spreading, refracting, shining, glooming and... disappearing. There is no light without shadow, no enlightenment without darkness.  The beauty of the city's lights will never cease to be praised . Let's listen to the american poet Ezra Pound : "And New York City is the most beautiful city in the world ? It is not far from it. No urban nights like the night there... squares after squares of flame, set up and cut into the aether. Here is our poetry, for we have pulled down the stars to our will."
